What to expect<\/h2><\/div>

You don’t need to know the details before you meet with us.<\/p>\n

We will take you through each decision \u2014 including burial or cremation, when and where the funeral will take place, who will conduct it and what the service might include \u2014 one step at a time.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Arranging a funeral is something most of us only do a few times in our lives.<\/p>\n

It can feel like there are a lot of decisions to make at exactly the time when making decisions is hardest.<\/p>\n

You don’t need to know how funerals work, and you don’t need to have everything decided before you speak with us.<\/p>\n

We will guide you through the arrangements, explain the choices available and help you create a funeral that is right for the person who has died and for your family.<\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>1. The first conversation<\/span><\/a><\/h2><\/div>

When you contact Bet-Olam Jewish Funerals (BOJF), we will begin by asking for some basic information about the person who has died, the circumstances of their death and where the person is, at the moment.<\/p>\n

We will explain what needs to happen immediately and arrange for the person who has died to be brought into our care when the necessary medical documentation and permissions are in place.<\/p>\n

We will then arrange a time to talk through the funeral arrangements with you.<\/p>\n

You are welcome to have other family members or a trusted friend involved in these conversations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>2. Before the arrangement meeting<\/span><\/a><\/h2><\/div>

You don’t need to prepare extensively.<\/p>\n

If possible, try to find any information the person who died may have left about their funeral wishes, including a prepaid funeral plan or other written instructions.<\/p>\n

We will also need some personal information to register the death, including details such as:<\/p>\n
